Dr. Ethan Hinds III is a board-certified psychiatrist and serves as Medical Director of Altus Psychiatry, where he oversees clinical quality and standards of care across the practice.

Dr. Hinds earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and completed his residency in general psychiatry at UT Health San Antonio, training in academic and community clinical settings. He then completed an ACGME-accredited fellowship in forensic psychiatry at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. He is certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and serves on the Texas Medical Board’s Expert Review Panel, helping uphold standards of care for physicians across the state.

In his clinical work, Dr. Hinds focuses on careful diagnosis and evidence-based medication management for adults and older adults, treating ADHD, depression, anxiety, bipolar and other mood disorders, PTSD and trauma, and burnout. His collaborative approach draws on cognitive-behavioral and motivational interviewing techniques, with treatment plans built around each patient’s goals.

Vanessa Brimigion, DNP, PMHNP-BC, FNP-BC

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Vanessa Brimigion, DNP, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner with more than eight years of psychiatric practice. She provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis and medication management for children, adolescents and adults.

Before joining Altus, Vanessa practiced in community mental health in Plano, caring for patients with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, ADHD, schizophrenia, personality disorders and co-occurring substance use. She also provided psychiatric coverage for a crisis stabilization unit, performing rapid assessments, determining the right level of care and delivering telepsychiatry after hours. Her background as a family nurse practitioner gives her a whole-person view of how physical and mental health connect.

Vanessa emphasizes clear communication, collaborative care and thoughtful patient and family education, making sure every patient understands their diagnosis, medications and plan.
