Why we started
Getting help shouldn’t be the hardest part
For many people, deciding to see a psychiatrist takes real courage. Then comes the wait — weeks or months for a first appointment — followed by a short visit that can feel more like a transaction than care.
We started Altus Psychiatry to change that. Our clinicians have worked in community mental health, crisis stabilization, primary care and academic medicine, and we’ve seen what happens when people can’t get timely help. So we built a practice around two commitments: fast access and thoughtful, unhurried care.
Today, Altus offers psychiatric evaluation, medication management and individual therapy across 7 offices in Texas and by telehealth — and we partner with partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs so patients have continuity at every level of care.
